Electric System Planning and Environmental Strategy Analyst [HYBRID]

You'll provide modeling and analytical support for projects, forecast, and initiatives that help shape SCE's corporate strategy and long-term system and resource plans, and power procurement. The work will primarily focus on quantitative and fundamental modeling and analyses that support grid planning for decarbonization, policy decisions, resource portfolios, and energy market activities. Work will also focus on modeling development and support in the face of uncertainty driven by exogenous market factors and system updates, like climate change and emerging technologies. This support will influence corporate planning, integrated resource planning, power procurement, energy policy, legal proceedings, and future investment strategies. As an Analyst, your work will establish an electric system to integrate clean energy, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner environment for everyone. Utilize power system simulation models to forecast system operations, market outcomes and prices, and planning tools to develop resource portfolios under various future scenarios; Evaluate the impacts of those portfolios on energy pricing, GHG emissions, and other system and market dynamics. Perform quantitative analyses of energy markets and prices, evaluating the cost-effectiveness and viability of new energy resources (i.e. renewables, energy storage, distributed energy resource, electrification etc.) to support SCE's strategy initiatives and power procurement activities. Provide analytical support for SCE's strategic planning process and projects including performing economic, market impacts and cost-benefit analyses. Develop analytical models and methods for a variety of applications, including evaluating energy policies, regulations, climate change impacts, and new business models. Present to department and division management, section supervision, colleagues, and other interested parties. Qualifications The Essentials:
Three or more years of experience conducting analytical studies. Experience with power systems and simulation models. The Preferred:
Bachelor's or higher in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Sciences, or other quantitative related fields Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with statistical modeling tools such as R, Python or SAS. Experience with energy/electric system analysis, or in other applicable fields of analysis. Knowledge of electricity markets, GHG policies and markets, and related regulatory requirements that govern SCE's participation in them. Problem-solving skills, analytical skills and commitment to continuous learning. Written, verbal, and presentation communications skills. Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. You should know Work Mode:
When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
