Job Description:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for achieving optimal arrangements related to purchasing indirect products and services.
This position executes the selection, evaluation, and negotiation for assigned PRG items, ensuring that the suppliers selected fit Panda's culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, provide the items at the best price and highest quality.
This position assists the Manager, Purchasing in day-to-day coordination of inventory, production, and product transition and assists with sourcing new product suppliers.
You'll get a chance to:
Identify suppliers for assigned items and arranges optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contract.
Ensure costs are within budget.
Assist Manager, Purchasing in identifying new suppliers to support future growth.
May attend supplier and industry shows to identify potential suppliers.
Evaluates potential suppliers in coordination with stakeholders, such as Restaurant Development, Marketing, and QA, concerning the viability of their product and acceptability of their manufacturing facility.
Assist with cost negotiation and logistics coordination.
Maintain a strong professional relationship between suppliers and the company.
Communicate with suppliers concerning all aspects of the partnership including PRG philosophy and growth plans and aligns suppliers with Panda to support company growth.
Evaluate the effectiveness and fitness of suppliers to determine the company's procurement strategy.
Lead or support cross-functional projects with departments such as Restaurant Development, Marketing, and Operations related to product specifications, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing new products, testing new products, coordinating field training, and phasing in/out products within distribution and ensuring safety.
Assist Manager with global sourcing for international expansion.
Set up inventory management for international operations.
Manage the purchase order process, creating and sending out purchase orders and submitting them for payment within Indirect Procurement.
Ensure that new suppliers comply with PRG legal policies by obtaining necessary signatures for non-disclosure agreements and contracts.
Serve as the point of contact with suppliers for assigned product categories.
Manage the relationship by creating and fostering a partnership approach.
Ensure supplier compliance with PRG policies and processes.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum three years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization.
Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
If hired, successful completion of annual store training.
If hired, must provide proof of full vaccination on start date, unless prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
Full vaccination means two weeks or more have passed after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, or more than two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine.
Examples of proof of full vaccination include an original, photocopied, or digital completed vaccination card that includes name, type of vaccine provided, and date of last dose administered.
