Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the ECE Administrator, Associate Teachers (AT) are responsible for providing a warm, caring, calm, orderly, safe and healthy early learning environment in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Early Education program.
ATs may be assigned to work in a classroom with children birth through 12 years or as a support teacher across all age groups.
ATs are required to provide high quality care, supervision and educational experiences to all children.
ATs are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Teacher's Aides, as assigned to their classroom.

Qualifications:
Current Immunizations.
Must have Covid-19 vaccination and boosters at time of hiring.
Active Fingerprint Clearance.
Child Development permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) at the Associate teacher or higher level.
Permits must be kept current, and cannot be allowed to lapse or expire.
Associate Teachers are responsible for maintaining a professional development plan, which includes setting professional growth goals, maintaining 21 hours of professional development annually, and renewing/upgrading their permit with the CTC 3-6 months prior to expiration.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Plan and organize engaging activities to ensure a safe, engaging, and positive early learning environment to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
Arrange and create a developmentally appropriate learning environment in accordance with program goals and Maryvale's philosophy that is compliant with ERS at a level 5 rating or higher.
Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate and culturally diverse daily activities for the children in accordance with Creative Curriculum.
Where applicable, planning and implementation of activities is to be a collaborative effort amongst the teaching team.
Ensure that children assigned to his/her care are visually supervised at all times, in accordance with Maryvale policy and procedure and Title 22 regulations.
Ensure that health and safety standards and procedures are effectively executed including but not limited to:
daily sanitation, diaper changing, record keeping/daily reports, safe sleep, safety checklists, adherence to allergy lists and food program documentation at point of service.
Meet with parents for conferences at 60 days, and every 6 months thereafter for review of DRDP and periodically as needed.
Ensure that family inquiries are responded to professionally and in a timely manner.
Complete 21 hours of professional development annually.
Upload said professional development into the Workforce Registry as trainings/coursework are completed.
Attend and actively contribute to:
in-services training, staff meetings, discussion groups.
Maintain a current Child Development Permit at the Associate Teacher level or higher.
ATs must hold a current permit to be eligible for their role, and will be demoted, suspended or dismissed if their permit is not maintained.
Associate Teacher permits are only renewable one time, and require an additional 15 units of coursework towards a Teacher permit.
Maintain regular records on children e.
g.
daily reports home, anecdotals, behavior logs, DRDPs.
Provide day-to-day supervision, mentorship and training of Teacher's Aides as assigned to the classroom, and provide regular feedback to the ECE administrative team regarding the job performance of said Teacher's Aides.
Use common sense and good judgement to act in accordance with Maryvale policy and procedure.
Problem solve and make sound judgments in all areas affecting the care and supervision of the children entrusted to the care of the program.
When necessary, call for assistance and respond to emergency situations accordingly.
In an emergency staff are to remain on campus until all children have left the premises OR they have been specifically authorized by the Center Director or VP of ECE to leave the premises.
Performs other duties as assigned.
