About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts.
Position Overview
The Company is embarking on a mission to be the leader in encouraging and enabling the proliferation of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) onto its distribution grid. This mission will fundamentally change the way we plan, build and operate our grid. The Distribution System Operator (DSO) Implementation group is the umbrella organization that will provide strategic leadership and high-level project oversight and management to coordinate, align, and drive work efforts to successfully achieve the Company's DSO goals.
Preparing for the efforts to integrate a large scale adoption of DERs and transform SCE as the DSO will be a cross-Company, multi-year effort that will require new business processes, advanced new analytical tools, new capabilities and skills for impacted employees, new regulatory frameworks and even new business models.
The Senior Advisor will work with senior leaders to establish the Company's strategic vision, objectives and priorities for building out its business capabilities to enable SCE's DSO vision, and they will be the primary interface between the DSO Implementation group and DSO-related project/work-efforts across the Company.
Dozens of work efforts across the Company are already underway, each addressing different pieces of this significant effort. The Senior Advisor will partner with individual project leads to provide strategic direction and guide efforts to manage scope, schedule and deliverables of individual projects to ensure alignment with Company objectives and priorities. The Senior Advisor will be expected to provide primary coordination across all projects to ensure consistent alignment among all DSO work efforts, the efficient use of Company resources and appropriate cross-collaboration to support issue identification and resolution.
In addition this position will also help determine strategies for engaging regulators, other utilities, and relevant stakeholders to drive policy outcomes that will enable the Company's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing strategic direction and high-level oversight of multiple DSO function related projects efforts across the Company.
Working with multiple individual project leads reviewing work plans and advising on changes to project scope, schedule and deliverables needed to align with Company DSO role objectives.
Monitoring progress of individual project efforts and works with project leads and executive sponsors to take corrective action where needed to ensure projects stay on track.
Coordinating work efforts across all DSO related projects to ensure consistent work priorities.
Negotiating with multiple business unit senior managers to balance competing work priorities and optimize the use of Company resources.
Participating with DSO project team members and multiple business unit SMEs on cross-functional problem solving and issue resolution.
Providing regular project(s) status reports to senior management leadership.
Working with other members of DSO Implementation group and relevant SMEs to develop and refine the end-to-end process workflows the Company will need to efficiently integrate and operate a high-volume of DERs.
Socializing assumptions, thought process and expected outcomes to ensure agreement among relevant SMEs and leaders.
Performing complex process gap analysis to inform the focus, direction and priority of DSO related project work efforts.
Developing and operationalizing high-level business capabilities roadmap that guide DSO-related efforts across the company.
Supporting the DSO Implementation group working by working senior Company leadership to establish the Company's strategic vision, objectives and priorities for building out its DSO business capabilities.
Assisting in determining strategies for engaging regulators, other IOUs, and relevant stakeholders to drive policy outcomes that will enable the Company's goals and objectives.
Engaging with various operating unit leaders in a collaborative way to provide a high level perspective on cross functional organizational efforts to build out DSO capabilities.
Being front-line champions and change agents to influence and encourage employees and leaders to embrace new perspectives on how the Company operates and delivers customer value.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
