Position Overview
The Advisor will be part of the Operational Finance group within the Finance organization at SCE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and/or leading research and analyses impacting corporate and organizational unit (OU) financial reporting, operational activities, and management decision making. Other responsibilities include designing and developing new reports, reporting tools, solutions, and processes, advising clients on technical and analytical strategies to address issues, advancing existing reporting processes and serving on cross-organizational teams to support decision making within and outside our organization.
+ Gathers and consolidates financial data from various sources and prepares summary reports with key analytical insights to address business issues without supervision. Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of findings and recommendations
+ Enhances and automates operational finance reports, analytical tools, and self-service capabilities in collaboration with IT to drive efficiency and support operational decision making.
+ Builds highly specific expertise utilizing financial data to perform cost trend analyses based on historical and forecasted data to support operational decision-making and continuous cost improvement without supervision.
+ Compares actual to budgeted costs to support variance analysis and forecasting.
+ Develops or reviews drafts of, and assists or makes presentations to the senior executives, department and division management, and other interested parties.
+ Plans all aspects of analyses, presentations, and implementation strategies for a complete complex analysis, often of moderate or major significance and/or risk to the Company.
+ Knowledgeable about sources of data and resources available to integrate and present information.
+ Utilizes existing or devises new, innovative models and methodologies.
+ Establishes recommendations and conclusions based on analysis of complex data.
+ Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in finance-related (Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent) or analytical (Mathematics, Analytics, Information Technology, or equivalent) discipline.
+ Must have at least six years of experience with financial and/or quantitative analyses.
+ Must have at least five years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
Desired Qualifications
+ Project Management certification and experience
+ Six Sigma certification and experience
+ Master?s Degree
+ Demonstrated experience working with and understanding of enterprise data sets of financial information
+ Typically possesses 6-10 years of experience in the field of financial analysis and/or accounting.
+ Demonstrated experience with data analytics and modeling.
+ Demonstrated experience with SAP.
+ Demonstrated ability with SAS
+ Demonstrated ability with SQL
+ Demonstrated experience tracking, analyzing and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of large amounts of data using Excel, Access, or other databases. Ability to structure and manage data to facilitate analysis for multiple purposes.
+ Ability to produce clear and visual reports to summarize findings of detailed data for a variety of audiences.
+ Demonstrated experience leading projects.
+ Ability to effectively communicate issues and findings in appropriate level of detail to various audiences, including senior management.
+ Strong customer service focus for internal and external customers
+ Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Experience developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to large audiences and senior management.
+ Experience developing training materials and job aides for new and changed processes
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment, including identifying project needs, prioritizing multiple projects and following through all assignments.
+ Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, clients, management, and other organizations.
+ Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
+ Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
+ The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA
+ Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
+ Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
