The Senior Specialist will be part of the OperationalFinance group within the Finance organization at SCE. The successful candidatewill be responsible for performing and/or leading research and analysesimpacting corporate and organizational unit (OU) financial reporting,operational activities, and management decision making. Other responsibilitiesinclude designing and developing new reports, reporting tools, solutions, andprocesses, advising clients on technical and analytical strategies to addressissues, advancing existing reporting processes and serving oncross-organizational teams to support decision making within and outside ourorganization.
Gathers and consolidates financialdata from various sources and prepares summary reports with key analyticalinsights to address business issues without supervision. Accountable for theaccuracy and integrity of findings and recommendations.
Enhances and automates operationalfinance reports, analytical tools, and self-service capabilities incollaboration with IT to drive efficiency and support operational decisionmaking.
Builds highly specific expertiseutilizing financial data to perform cost trend analyses based on historical andforecasted data to support operational decision-making and continuous costimprovement without supervision.
Compares actual to budgeted costs tosupport variance analysis and forecasting.
Develops or reviews drafts of, andassists or makes presentations to the senior executives, department anddivision management, and other interested parties.
Plans all aspects of analyses,presentations, and implementation strategies for a complete complex analysis,often of moderate or major significance and/or risk to the Company.
Knowledgeable about sources of dataand resources available to integrate and present information.
Utilizes existing or devises new,innovative models and methodologies.
Establishes recommendations andconclusions based on analysis of complex data.
Maintain a safety conscious workenvironment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; andperforming other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
