SCE?s Strategy, Integrated Planning, and Performance (SIPP) organization builds and manages the company?s highest priority strategic interests and integrates grid and resource planning efforts across the company.
Position Overview:
Becoming a world-class utility operator is foundational to SCE?s business strategy. Success involves setting ambitious improvement plans to improve safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, and affordability, while executing against strategic objectives. The Principal Manager of Performance Management will lead a small, central team that sets and monitors corporate metrics and targets, analyzes key drivers of success, and works with operating units to create and execute performance improvement plans. The team will develop a more consistent and repeatable approach to performance management that provides an integrated view across all operating units using data and analytics, quickly identifies shortfalls, and establishes and prioritizes remediation options. The Principal Manager must work with both senior management and OU leadership and performance teams to agree on metrics/targets and manage progress of portfolios of improvement efforts to ensure successful achievement of corporate goals and operational performance.
Typical Responsibilities:
+ Establish and maintain enterprise approach to describing, evaluating, and reporting on performance
+ Build and maintain ?metric trees? that decompose our core company objectives (goals, metrics, and strategic outcomes) into their key component drivers
+ Identify necessary data and develop analytics to describe the impacts of one metric on another
+ Collaborate with operational units (departments) performance management teams to tie operational performance to company outcomes (including corporate goals and strategic objectives)
+ Interact with operational units performance management organizations to ensure tracking and reporting on metrics, and to build out their capabilities to conduct root cause analysis, and identify and prioritize corrective actions
+ Manage portfolio of improvement projects that support attainment of company targets
+ Run annual corporate goal-setting process, monitor progress, and report on performance
+ Conduct senior management governance and performance reviews to ensure attainment of corporate goals
+ Develop reports for senior management and Board on operational performance.
+ Establish mechanisms to decide which activities to pursue and which to defer based on impact on goals and metrics and considering trade-offs between objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelors (quantitative field, i.e., mathematics, economics, business)
+ 5 years in operational expertise and/or project management
+ 5 years of experience leading a cross-functional team
+ 5 years of experience interpreting analytical results and using results to facilitate decisions
+ Experience managing and/or leading company performance improvement projects in attainment of company goals for a department, OU, or company-wide
Desired qualifications:
+ Masters (quantitative field, i.e., statistics, mathematics, economics, etc.)
+ Experience with companywide initiatives influencing implementation of objectives, processes, and projects
+ Ability to drive and implement change in a change-resistant environment
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate and lead meetings
+ Strong logical thinking and quick learning abilities
+ Experience developing and delivering presentations for senior officers and/or board
+ Knowledge and/or experience with industry wide methods to manage utility performance
+ Experience conducting performance analysis using data analytics software (e.g. Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS))
+ Experience analyzing data to determine operational performance and determining corrective actions to address gaps
+ Familiarity with various technical programs, ranging from visual dashboards to statistical programs.
+ Experience in continuous process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, six sigma green belt or black belt certification or equivalent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
