Position Overview
The Senior Advisor will be part of the Major Grid Projects group within the Information Technology Grid Services organization at Southern California Edison (SCE). The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Supporting Transmission and Distribution Operating Unit (T&D) cluster study effort to meet the State of California mandated SCE goals for renewable energy.
Performing project intake, analyze project requirements, and determine telecom project scope.
Developing recommendations on long range business objectives, initiatives, and action plans.
Representing Grid Services in various T&D planning, oversight, and change control committees.
Providing strategic oversight of project plans and will have weekly interface with T&D to monitor and manage the flow of projects to the organization.
Performing financial research and analysis to support the effective utilization and treatment of Telecom's financial assets.
Typical Responsibilities:
Reviews third party generators' Interconnection Agreements for general approach and any technical, scope, and cost errors.
Analyzes telecommunications requirements and provide Telecom scope, estimates, and plan of service for interconnect generator cluster studies.
Participates in various project kick off meeting to ensure adequate support to customers
Reviews project initiation templates, supports requirement analysis, and attends regional project coordination meetings.
Gathers and provides project requirement summaries and recommendations to management.
Develops statement of work with service provider and oversee Consultant Work Agreement (CWA) process.
Analyzes unit cost, labor cost, overhead allocations, and/or contract, services, and material cost needed to develop budgets, and compares actual to budgeted costs to support variance analysis and forecasting.
Performs cost trend analysis using historical and external data to support operational decision-making.
Acts as key consultant to senior management
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Experience with telecommunication and network infrastructure.
10 years of experience with financial planning, estimating, and forecasting.
Experience with performing cost benefit/trend analysis.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline
Knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution electrical systems.
Knowledge of telecom engineering practices and costs to accurately prepare estimates.
Knowledge with telecommunication systems and/or operations.
Experience analyzing information and/or data, developing recommendations and solutions, and effectively communicating recommendations to management.
Ability to review and edit report summaries in the cluster study in relationship to its overall project scope and Telecom's original cluster estimates.
Be customer focused and have demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of EPEF/PMWIF/ATP process.
Knowledge of SAP or other sources of data to access financial information for reporting and tracking project finance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
