Power Plant Technical Specialist

Position Overview:
SCE monitors manydifferent electric generation types spanning from renewable, combined heat andpower, and conventional resources. The Technical Specialistin Contract Compliance & Technical Services is responsible for a variety oftechnical reviews, advisory and inspection functions for SCE's contracted andretained generation portfolio. The role includes time in the field representingSCE at site inspections, electric generator testing, and verifications ofpotential generation capacity compared to SCE's power purchase contractportfolio. Additionally, the rolerequires review of power purchase contracts, settlement agreements, technicaldocuments, single line diagrams, site plans, and forced outage & other lostoutput events for contract compliance and safety. The role performs analysis of generation unitinput/output data to determine unit performance compared to emissions modelingor contracted unit efficiencies.
Typical Responsibilities:
Evaluate,witness, and document power plant testing and verify installed equipmentthrough site visits according to power purchase agreement terms while alsoensuring compliance with State and Federal requirements and optimization ofcustomer costs and risks.
Developand maintain site visit safety programs and personnel protective equipmentinventories.
Providesupport for various solicitations including: preparing and articulatingtechnical requirements in RFO documents and bidder's calls; reviewing technicalaspects and documents of submitted offers; and analysis of contract terms andassisting RFO teams with technical requirements.
Participateon negotiation teams, when applicable, and provide technical support foramendments, disputes, data requests and compliance filings.
Conduct,or manage appropriate contract resources, to develop complex studies related topower purchase contracts, renewable or conventional generation resources, orother technical related activities.
Serveas a corporate subject matter expert to provide support to integrated resourceplanning, production cost modeling and other SCE departments with cost andcharacteristics of generation.
Presentand represent SCE, under general guidance, at conferences and internal andexternal meetings with respect to technical electrical generation or storageresource issues, such as the technical requirements around conventional,renewable or storage procurement and program or contract compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
BachelorDegree in an engineering discipline or related field.
Knowledgeof power plant generation types and power plant operating protocols
Atleast (4) years' experience performing complex analysis, consulting, andproviding recommendations regarding power plant operations or otherbusiness/market optimization activities.
(3)years' experience leading teams, managing projects, and interpreting powerpurchase contract terms.
Desired Qualifications:
Master'sDegree or higher in engineering discipline
Typicallyrequires a minimum of eight (8) years' experience performing complex analysis,consulting, and providing recommendations regarding power plant operations orother business/market optimization activities.
Advancedknowledge of power plant generation types and power plant operating protocols
ProfessionalEngineer's license
Prefereight years' experience performing complex analysis, consulting, and providingrecommendations for decision making regarding operational or market impacts
Highdegree of understanding of power purchase agreements and interpretations ofterms and conditions regarding testing and compliance
Powerplant operations, power plant development, or commissioning experience

The primary work location for this position is Rosemead,CA
Candidates for this position must be legally authorizedto work directly as employees for any employer in the United States withoutvisa sponsorship.
Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.
Positionwill require up to 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCEservice territory.
Thisposition has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to beinghired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) orBackground Investigation. Once hired,the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escortedaccess to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
