Sr. Manager, Finance - Affordability and Operational Effectiveness

Position Overview:
The leadership position is responsible for leading SCE's Affordability Operational and Service Excellence (OpX) initiative, FRM Program Reviews, and Operational Finance's Operational Effectiveness work activities. The position will manage a team of senior advisors and analysts that will work cross-functionally throughout the company, coordinating with various stakeholders to evaluate and review SCE capital and O&M spend, using data analysis and peer benchmarking. Additionally, this role will lead Operational Finance's operational effectiveness activities, including managing the governance of process documentation, the governance of Finance's lean six sigma process improvement projects and training, Operational Finance's training programs, improving the organization's work environment, and leading the intern recruiting process.
Typical Responsibilities:
Manage team responsible for the Affordability Program Management Office (PMO), developing new affordability opportunities, reporting affordability progress to SCE's Utility Management Team ("UMT") and Operating Committee ("OpCo"), and benchmark peers to develop new metrics and targets for affordability in the future
Lead a team to direct and lead all SCE Capital Program Reviews ($25 million and above) through the Finance Risk Management (FRM) committee review process
Manage a team responsible for developing and managing Operational Finance's operational effectiveness activities, including, leading and governing their process documentation, shaping our organization's process improvement projects (lean six sigma), developing and managing the bi-weekly, on-going, and on-boarding training program, developing and managing organizational health and effectiveness programs / process and leading and managing the intern recruiting process
Balances mix of day-to-day operations and policy with strategic planning
Continual contact with executive management
Provides information and persuades in setting strategic direction
Weekly contact with inter- and intra-department managers and supervisors
May act for department head or division manager in his/her absence
Manages the capacity and demand of work across individual contributors and oversees performance management and salary planning and shares best practices with other operational finance needs
Responsible for employee development and talent planning, and performance development
Sources individuals to work assignment through effective use of resource planning tools
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
5 years of experience managing/supervising an organization/unit or project management
5 years of experience conducting financial analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills, PowerPoint development and presentation; including to executives
Over 10 years of work experience
Strong experience creating Excel models
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree
Understanding of SAP & SAP cost flows
Lean Six Sigma experience & training
Experience leading cross organizational change initiatives
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate and lead teams
Strong analytical thinking and quick learning abilities
Ability to develop and communicate vision & strategies
Ability to influence executive decision-making
Experience managing benchmarking and/or goal planning activities.
Experience leading cross-functional teams or acting as team lead.
Experience analyzing information and/or data, developing recommendations and solutions, and effectively communicating recommendations to executives
Ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment
Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
