Position Overview:
This position will be part of the Legal Organization at Southern California Edison. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve personal injury and property damage claims both for and against SCE.
Essential job functions include:
Managing multiple concurrent customer claims and investigation projects; preparing detailed accident investigation reports and memorandums on a daily basis regarding property damage, bodily injury, and business loss, while using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; communicating with customers/clients.
Conducting field investigations including first/third party vehicle accidents, trip and falls, fires, and electrical contacts.
Interfacing with Edison contractors and Field Personnel including Troublemen, Repair Crews, Line Clearing Specialists, Field Service Representatives, and Planning Personnel.
Representing the Company in Small Claims Court; representing the Company at Mediations, Settlement Conferences, and Trials, and assisting Counsel as required.
Traveling throughout the SCE service territory as needed.
Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in claims field investigations.
Must be able to represent the Company in Small Claims Court.
Possess and maintain a valid driver license.
Desired Qualifications:
Typically possesses six or more years of experience investigating and resolving claims for and against the Company.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving personal injury and property damage claims including electrical and fire incidents.
Demonstrated experience writing reports or memorandums such as property damage, business loss, accident, incident, investigation, collision, bodily injury, and fire, etc., using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Demonstrated experience interfacing and collaborating with clients, peers, management, and other departments.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects or assignments.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Must be able to travel across the Southern California Edison's service territory.
Local travel 30%

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
