Southern California Edison's (SCEs) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. Position Overview
SCE's Customer Experience research teams are comprised of best-in-class experts in research design, execution, and analytics. We take pride tackling the hardest questions, and drawing insights from ambiguous data sets, providing a deep understanding of our customers and our business. As a Senior Statistical Analyst on the team, you will provide data-driven insights, support presentations to senior leadership, and provide ongoing support through consultative thought leadership.
This role will require extensive experience with primary data collection design and statistics to model and mine relation databases to drive insights for business decision. A strong understanding of different software package and tools for advanced statistical modeling is required. In this role, you'll have exposure to senior leadership with the opportunity to learn from their deep experience and convert that understanding into hypothesis testing through optimal data collection and analysis methodologies. The high powered analysis provides the opportunity to impact SCE's business decision making at a critical time of scaling a customer-driven culture.
Typical Responsibilities:
Transform data to help inform strategic and tactical business decisions
Work with complex data structures and provide innovative ways to solution for complex data delivery requirements
Establish standards for discoverable documentation that can easily be updated
Identify and communicate trends and find new ways to collect and utilize our data to benefit our customers and the business
Support implementation of strategic business initiatives and major projects by performing additional assignments upon request from management
Present recommendations to senior management and work with other teams to communicate recommendations for the purpose of driving strategic initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Social Science, Mathematics, or Statistics)
Five (5) or more years of analytical experience.
Three (3) or more years of experience in complex, data-driven problem solving.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets and interacting with relational databases (e.g. Teradata) using SQL, SAS, R, Python, VBA, SPSS
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Knowledge of statistics and data research methodologies (e.g., multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, controlled test design)
Strong team player who can work well across multiple cross-functional teams, including, finance, growth, product, engineering, and data teams
Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
Experience developing, implementing and refining predictive models to acquire, manage and retain customer relationships.
Preferred experience in the utilities industry

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
