The successful candidate will help the company to assess and analyze a wide range of risks utilizing a structured and systematic risk management framework through regular interactions with subject matter experts throughout the company and senior leaders, including executives and officers. This role provides a broad exposure to activities and initiatives throughout the company. This position would work as a primary senior consultant and technical expert to the OU SMEs, managers, and executive to help with analyzing operational risk in addition to risk assessment of projects and initiatives prior to taking those to one of the decision making forum (EC, FRM, etc.) To fulfill the objectives listed above, the Senior Advisor would require to have strong technical skills, strategic problem solving, client skills, and excellent business judgment. This person will be responsible for leading assignments with a broad scope and complexity in a cross functional team environment and in many occasions will be presenting results alongside of the executives to a larger group of decision makers. Overall under the leadership of the Principal Manager of ERM, the Strategy and Technical Principal Advisor will be responsible for leading assignments with a broad scope and complexity in a cross functional team environment.   Typical Responsibilities The ideal candidate is a risk subject matter expert with recognized experience in conducting enterprise, operational, or strategic risk management. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of the Utility industry and operations. The candidate should have strong project management, analytical, and client skills and excellent business judgment.   ERM Framework Enhancement: Support development and implementation of a more robust process for identifying and assessing risks throughout the company  Enterprise Risks: Conducting risk assessments, coordinating and consulting with all Operating Units (OUs), identifying risks not already being tracked (emerging or changing risks), and evaluating the likelihood and potential impact of each risk.  Operational/Asset Risk: Leading the work with internal and external SMEs to establish best methodologies in assessing wide range of risks across the company. This will require in-depth understanding of risk assessment techniques, statistical/probabilistic modeling, operations, asset management, and physical and financial loss control.  Root Cause Analysis: Supporting root cause analysis efforts to ensure that whenever possible, the underlying cause of any significant loss is understood. This also includes disseminating the results of the analysis to all areas of the company where this information could be used to reduce risk in the future  ERM Governance: Developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems required for maintaining and enhancing the overall ERM mission   Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics or a risk related discipline  Eight or more years of experience in risk management, quantitative/analytical roles, loss prevention, or operational risk management function  Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a variety of risk assessment tools and techniques (e.g. failure mode, cause analysis, fault tree, etc.)  Excellent project management skills and deep operational knowledge  Five or more years of experience with the development of and leading complex projects or programs  Excellent written and oral communication skills  Organized and able to effectively manage multiple, diverse tasks and adhere to tight deadlines Desired Qualifications Master's Degree  Three or more years of ERM and/or operational risk management experience  Executive-level consulting skills  Three or more years of experience in the energy or utilities industries  Experience providing strategic planning and project management skills  Experience leading cross-functional teams  Ability to express control deficiencies in a business context   Comments Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
